Emilee and Nathan found me online a year and a half ago and asked me if I was available to be their wedding photographer. I have to say that I love living in a time with internet, because I don’t think I would have met these wonderful people without it! My excitement grew as Emilee described her vision for their wedding. What is not to love about dusty blue and Northern Michigan in September? Also, DONUTS! I had the pleasure of meeting these two in person when I took their engagement session in Cadillac last year in October. I loved talking to them and hearing all about how much they both love the outdoors.
Since their engagement session, a lot of things have happened in my own life. I found out I was pregnant, my husband and I moved across Lake Michigan to East Wisconsin, and I became a mom to my sweet Lacey (it was a little hard for me to leave her for the first time for a whole weekend, but I’m happy to say it went really well with my husband taking care of her by himself). Emilee and Nathan also made a big life change and recently bought a house together!
I made my way over the day before their wedding on the SS Badger Ferry and it was an absolutely perfect day on Lake Michigan, calm waters and sunny skies. I really enjoyed it! Just like the rest of the weekend, the weather was gorgeous on their wedding day! I love clear skies :) If anything it was surprisingly warm! The next day was Emilee and Nathan’s wedding and it was so good to see them again on their special day and to also meet their dear family members. Emotions were high that day and it warmed my heart to see all the happy tears. This group of people really love and care about each other. <3
I hope you all enjoy these images from their wedding day!
Emilee’s sister, Kaitlyn, sung a touching song to her sister and new brother with her dad accompanying her on his guitar. It was very sweet and reminded me of my sister and me :)
Emilee and Nathan decided to have donuts as their wedding dessert instead of cake, which not only was cute and unique, but was a huge hit with guests as well!
Caberfae Peaks was the perfect venue and the staff were such a pleasure to work with. I loved the surround area for bride and groom portraits, we even got to catch sunset last minute for some gorgeous shots :)
Congratulations Emilee and Nathan! Thank you for having me as your photographer :)
